Seychelles – Mahé & Silhouette Island

The Seychelles had been on our travel wish list for a long time, and last year we finally had the opportunity to experience these remarkable islands together. Surrounded by turquoise waters, lush tropical forests, and some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Mahé and Silhouette Island offered exactly what makes travel so special: the chance to slow down, disconnect from everyday life, and reconnect with nature.

Mahé, the largest island of the Seychelles, welcomed us with its vibrant mix of mountain landscapes, tropical vegetation, and stunning coastline. Winding roads led through dense forests and small villages, while breathtaking viewpoints revealed endless views across the Indian Ocean. Every corner seemed to offer a new perspective, making it a paradise for photography and exploration alike.

From Mahé, we continued to Silhouette Island, a place that felt untouched by time. With no busy roads, few inhabitants, and vast protected nature reserves, the island offered a sense of tranquility that is increasingly rare in today’s world. Hiking trails disappeared into tropical rainforests, giant granite rocks framed secluded beaches, and sunsets painted the sky in shades of gold, orange, and pink.

We were constantly inspired by the changing light, the vibrant colors, and the peaceful atmosphere of the islands. Yet what made the Seychelles truly memorable was not just their beauty—it was the feeling of being present in the moment. Watching waves gently roll onto the shore, listening to the sounds of nature, and sharing these experiences together created memories that no photograph can fully capture.

The images from this journey are more than photographs of tropical beaches and exotic landscapes. They are reminders of a place where time seemed to slow down and where every day invited us to appreciate the simple beauty of the world around us.
