Ísafjörður, Iceland – Dynjandi and the Westfjords

Our visit to Ísafjörður took us deep into the breathtaking landscapes of Iceland’s remote Westfjords. The highlight of the day was the magnificent Dynjandi Waterfall, often considered the jewel of the region. After a scenic drive through dramatic fjords and mountain passes, we spent time exploring the series of cascading waterfalls that tumble down from a height of nearly 100 meters. Surrounded by untouched wilderness, it was one of those places that truly captures the raw beauty of Iceland.

The journey continued to the small fishing village of Suðureyri, where we experienced a glimpse of everyday life in one of Iceland’s most remote communities. Between local tastings, quiet harbor views, and the warm hospitality of the village, we discovered a different side of Iceland—one shaped by the sea, tradition, and resilience. As photographers, we were constantly drawn to the dramatic scenery, but what stayed with us most was the feeling of being connected to a landscape that remains both wild and wonderfully authentic.
